Pros

Flexible work schedule, enjoyed being on the road and working with accounts, ability to work independently, minimal supervision from managers except during market visits. Good opportunity to master organizational and time management skills.

Cons

Everyone has widespread territories and too many accounts to manage, coupled with unreasonable selling expectations. The amount of time expected to spend on each store call is unrealistic given all of the tasks that must be completed. Lots of pressure instilled by management to meet quota causes Reps to cheat in order to satisfy upper management. Management is so focused on meeting the unrealistic expectations and making themselves look good that they encourage cheating and false reporting. Quarterly bonuses are distributed to the same 4 top performers who consistently cheat and blatantly lie about the number of cases and displays sold. Managers refused to investigate cheating and choose to look the other way. Low employee morale for those who are honest. No opportunities for professional growth or promotions, no additional training provided despite being promised and being placed in management-in-training position, minimal new hire training, outdated handheld technology used - device was constantly breaking which resulted in weekly calls to the IT department and unsuccessful attempts to troubleshoot, poor work/life balance, auto mileage reimbursement rate was far below rate established by the IRS, no car allowance to compensate for wear and tear on personal vehicle, Account Management team always behind schedule and failing to communicate changes in promotion calendar and force-out schedule causing Reps to look ignorant when speaking with store management and burn bridges.

Pros

There are pockets of talent and smarts on the creative side of the business, and I absolutely adored my immediate coworkers and my manager.

Cons

Senior leadership is an absolute mess. They will get us all together for these pep rallies, demand we “AMP IT UP”, then turn around and screw us mercilessly when it comes to raises, bonuses and job security. There is also quite a bit of platonic nepotism happening on the creative end of the business, with people who lend no real value to the work sitting at the very top of the creative pyramid solely because of their relationship to senior leaders. These people are being carried on the shoulders of their creative directors and ACDs, who are all criminally underpaid and under appreciated. With round after round of layoffs, no new wins, and leaders who demand high energy, long hours, and good attitudes at all times, I would strongly advise creatives to steer clear of this train wreck of an agency.
