Pros

The ACE program is an excellent entry-level training program in an interesting industry. While it is sometimes apparent that the program is still relatively new and therefore developing and adjusting, it provides incredible (and early) upper-management exposure new college grads. I felt like it was easy to stand out and be noticed for my work, and I was able to get plenty of attention from mentors and managers alike. I feel like I've truly launched a career after my time in the ACE program and would highly recommend it to anyone, especially those who have a diverse or varied skill set.

Cons

For the ACE program in particular, it was not apparent that I would be spending so much time in grocery stores merchandising the products. While this is the best way to learn about the industry, it was not clearly stated during the hiring process that this would be my primary duty. The hiring process also seemed unorganized and sporatic.

Pros

There are pockets of talent and smarts on the creative side of the business, and I absolutely adored my immediate coworkers and my manager.

Cons

Senior leadership is an absolute mess. They will get us all together for these pep rallies, demand we “AMP IT UP”, then turn around and screw us mercilessly when it comes to raises, bonuses and job security. There is also quite a bit of platonic nepotism happening on the creative end of the business, with people who lend no real value to the work sitting at the very top of the creative pyramid solely because of their relationship to senior leaders. These people are being carried on the shoulders of their creative directors and ACDs, who are all criminally underpaid and under appreciated. With round after round of layoffs, no new wins, and leaders who demand high energy, long hours, and good attitudes at all times, I would strongly advise creatives to steer clear of this train wreck of an agency.
