Pros
Free snacks and drinks, stocked fridge for the most part, weekly free breakfast
Cons
Unclear career path for upward mobility, very Asian culture as you are expected to OT and stay late. Lowball pay compared to the area’s market rate, excessive ‘management’ meeting frequency (frequent late meetings until 8 PM because of TW time zone). Questionable hiring practice: they often transfer people from Taipei HQ or hire native Chinese speakers to fit into their culture, but few can barely communicate professionally in English. High turnover rate because of a toxic culture and terrible compensation. Outdated office environment, advertise themselves as a “tech company” but uses antiquated internal technology (‘IT team’ runs by 2 people). No flexibility in working from home (mandating employees to work from the office during COVID because 'upper management' doesn't trust them to have the ability to WFH).
