AdventHealth Corporate

Engaged Employer

Good place to work for the projects. However, a few sr. managers and politics make it difficult to recommend. - Senior Systems Engineer AdventHealth Corporate Employee Review

Pros

Mission based, non-profit organization. Challenging work, never bored. Work at home program (for IT employees) Growing, thriving hospital system with strong focus on Clinical IT initiatives

Cons

Highly political A few bad managers (not all) spend more time jockeying for position, blaming others, and CYA'ing than focusing on the right thing to do for the organization and teams. A few in sr. positions (i.e. CTO) are poor communicators and ineffective leaders. Staff often gets things done in spite of them, not because of them. Keep running out of space and shoving people into smaller cubicles (Work-at-home was a reaction to this, not a proactive plan for employee benefit.) Too much work, not enough FTE's and resources, at least in technical areas. Some preferential treatment of SDA's (i.e. HR is not a safe haven.)

Pros

AdventHealth has a very welcoming, mission-driven culture with a strong focus on extending care through Christ. The campuses and office spaces are very nice, the compensation is competitive, and the community feels supportive. My early experience has been positive, organized, and encouraging.

Cons

I am still early in my time here, so I do not have many negatives yet. Like most large organizations, there is a lot to learn during onboarding, including systems, processes, and how different teams work together.

Pros

Benefits only with stable company and IRA match. Provide equipment for work

Cons

As Home health employee they put physical therapists in charge of scheduling and PTA are always 3 Rd inline for scheduling decisions after Physical therapist and then supervisors. Yep they preach about losing money and high cost per visit. As PTA you get the enormous inconsistent area different than what was told at hire. The EPIC documentation system is probably the worst I've ever used for documenting in my 5 companies worked with in Home Health setting. EPIC is very NOT STREAMLINED OR NON USER FRIENDLY. UPPER LEVEL MANAGEMENT DOES NOT GET FEEDBACK FROM FIELD USERS CLINICIANS FOR OPPORTUNITIES TO IMPROVE DOCUMENTATION PROGRAM. The computer provided still works off 4G network sadly with 18-22 pages to load for treatment visit to. No bonus opportunity for PTAs to see more visits or PTs to do more start of care/ SOC. WEAK IN RETAINING PATIENTS FROM HOSPITAL FOR HOME CARE.
