High turnover rate, low pay, too many demands for minimum wage job, poor management, and poor communication. When I started at Aegis Living, it seemed like a great place to work but soon I came to realize that it was all fake to sugar coat a very toxic environment. The management has no idea what they're doing, constantly changes rules/policies without informing everyone, and blames everyone for their mistakes. If management doesn't like you, they make it known and constantly belittle you for anything, including things they do themselves. They promise things they can't deliver and then always tell you to go talk to someone else if you approach them about it. For example, if you were to get a raise and never got it (happened multiple times to other employees), if you talked to one staff in management, they would tell you to talk to _____ so if you went and talked to ______ they'd only tell you to go talk to the original person you talked to like a vicious cycle. They also hire just about anybody, so when someone doesn't do their job, everyone is often blamed for the mistakes of one person THEY hired who is ill-equipped to handle such a job. I can't even begin to count the amount of times I came in for my shift to find multiple residents neglected (haven't been changed all shift, in dirty clothes, not groomed well, etc.), and when this was brought up to management, nothing was done about it. The employees who neglected residents are still working there, and one even got Aegis' form of 'Employee of the Month' despite multiple complaints made against this employee. It is clear they play favoritism and when you fall out of that group, good luck. You're on your own. Don't work here, or at least at this location.
