Pros
On the surface level everything was great, My community did a great job of making everyone feel appreciated and valued. You could see how much the employees really cared for the residents. There was a focus on resident and family engagement, lots of celebrations, recognition, and events.
Cons
Company culture above the community level was only profit driven. There was no authentic concern for the employee experience. The company masqueraded as if they were taking care of the employee by providing The Potato Soup Fund as an opportunity to help employees in emergency need, but the program was fully funded by employee donation... no funds directly from the company. Holiday bonuses were fully funded by resident donations... again no company funding. In April all Business Office Managers in WA were laid off. There was no farewell/thank you statement shared from corporate leadership but there were plenty of announcements celebrating corporate level promotions and articles highlighting the CEO and new location openings. They preached about a "family" culture and if that was the case, the employees were the red-headed stepchildren.
