Pros
-Fun and energetic work environment that offers a chance to work with young professionals (this is without a doubt the biggest Pro of the job) -If business is doing well the boss will usually pay for drinks at the local watering hole. -If you are lucky you will get partnered up with a good triangle that works with stable accounts which means you will earn commission regardless of your skill as a recruiter. -Good experience in recruiting and you will become an expert on reading and building resume's -Free lunch if you take a contractor out you can expense it.
Cons
-Extreme nepotism (advice kiss your DBO's butt early and often) -Long hours (7:30am - 6:30pm) for minimum pay. 33K-35K base depending on where you live but don't plan on clearing much more than that your first year... unless you are lucky (see "Pros" above) -If business is down plan on staying to at least 7:00pm. I was told the work day ends at 5:30pm but quickly realized that in the "pit" where the recruiters work it ends up being a waiting game. Everyone is waiting and looking around to see who the sucker is that leaves first. -Little value for your customers compared to the price Aerotek's service cost. Aerotek is consistently priced higher than all of the competitors and the counter argument is that they offer a higher quality candidate. -Dishonest Account Managers that tell you they are on a business meeting when they are really at home napping, shopping, running errands, etc.
