Aerotek in downtown Chicago was literally one of the most disgusting and horrific places I’ve ever seen and worked okay. This company not only violated every HR regulation known to man, but the money hungry individuals that work for the company literally push people into jobs for their own gain. When a recruiter would have a candidate for a role, EVERY manager would say “What do they look like and how do they talk?” implying they wanted to know gender, race, and status. The culture at Aerotek is disgusting. From being pressured into drinking at work functions, to getting bullied from the leadership, this company tears people down. There is no balance here. Hours are 7:30am-6pm, but most days we wouldn’t be leaving before 6:30pm without getting a nasty text from a manager saying that our work wasn’t finished or that our numbers weren’t hit. Management uses fear tactics to have you hit your numbers. Character degradation is a daily occurrence. Lying is common amongst the “team”. There is no HR department for internal employees that takes action against wrongdoings (i.e. discriminatory workplace, forced alcohol consumption). Pay starts at $14/ hour and you have to make the company $500K before you can even think about making $70K+. Commission structure is terrible. No one had kids in my office - there would be no time for that with the hours and work we had to put in. I was told to keep silent about why I was leaving the company, when I’m reality I hope that prospects know what’s happening to save themselves. I lost a part of myself when working at Aerotek, and was told by management that it was my fault and that I had time to get better. PTO was frowned upon and I even got scolded for being sick. “Feedback” was frequent and degrading. Management is incompetent. The ones that get promoted are the ones that are dumb enough to stick around. Turnover is wild high - I witnessed multiple people getting fired for not hitting their numbers and/or living through Aerotek’s coveted “guiding principles” (yeah.... look them up). Basically, if you’re not liked, the company will find a reason to fire you. Lastly, drug use is common.
