Pros
-Uncapped commission. If money motivates you this is probably the job for you. -Great Resume Builder. After a year with Aerotek, you can really have any corporate recruiter job you want. -Co-workers. You'll find a group of people that are as miserable as you are to commiserate with every day.
Cons
I spent 50% of my time at Aerotek in tears and the other 50% confused. Every call, email, and conversation is scrutinized was scrutinized while my manager made excuses for not hitting their weekly goals. Got defensive when I tried to hold them accountable but then was critized when I didn't. Multiple times my manager took a week off randomly the night before and left me to handle their workload. Handled 8 weeks of their workload on top of my workload, in the middle of a pandemic for no additional compensation or spread, and when they came back and my spread wasn't where they wanted it I was accused of not trying or being committed. The turnover is ridiculous. I saw dozens of recruiters come and go and the excuse was always "they weren't performing" whether it was true or not. Management never wanted to look into the real reason. If a new recruiter joined your team, it was your responsibility to train and develop them. Feedback is supposedly what Aerotek is built on but they prefer to gossip behind one another's back instead and then wonder why people aren't improving. The office culture is similar to being in middle school. Full of drama. You have to be apart of the popular group to be promoted. No one who is promoted to leadership is qualified to manage others. When I went on medical leave, I submitted my FMLA paperwork to HR. I notified my manager of my last date in the office. I was then, mistakenly copied on an email from my HR partner to my manager and director that had copies of all my FMLA papers. Diversity and inclusion is a joke. The internal recruiter came up to me after I started and said "I need to find more of you exotic people so my diversity numbers look better". The ridiculousness just goes on and on.
