Pros

Ever since I can remember I wanted to be part of something… something bigger than myself. I wanted to feel and KNOW I was contributing to a cause that was meaningful. Ok let’s be real… automotive advertising was FAR and way down the list of things that I wanted to use my skills for. Nevertheless, life happened to me. I went to art school, l then got my first job making commercials for a TV station and… suddenly I took a deep dive into the automotive advertising world. Life kept bringing me back to it automotive advertising. My college dream: to become a Creative Director one day. Am I creative director now? No. I am not. But let me tell you… I work with the VERY best in the industry. Every day I am humbled and proud to work besides team members that give it their all day in and day out. The work we put out is awesome. Could our work be better? YES! If we had the time to make it better. But we know realistically… we have to pay the bills and make it work with what we have. Today, I am not a Creative Director. Caldwell and Kerr, the company that I’ve been with for over 6 year, got acquired by Affinitiv. The transition has been in the works for a bit and we have been slowly transitioning. Interestingly enough, this week has been quite eventful. TODAY I feel even more empowered than ever before... My lifelong desire to become part of something bigger is coming to fruition. To my surprise I was selected by my peers to co-chair and lead a Diversity Council within the company. I have seen firsthand the impact initiatives like this have, not only on myself, but also my peers. I can not wait to see what else is in store for us. To be honest, the work we do is hard, it’s not for everyone. You really have to be passionate and devote yourself to succeed… at least if you want to become part of the team I’m proud to lead. However, I think everything in life that is “worth” something is hard to achieve and will come with sweat and hard work. Right now, this very moment… I realize I did not have to become a Creative Director to become part of something that is bigger than myself and leave some sort of impact in this world. Thanks Caldwell and Kerr and thanks Affinitiv for giving me the opportunity to grow and experience new horizons!

Cons

Get ready to work hard and give it your all. If you are a creative. Get ready to create/develop some tough skin as the work we do is no longer "ours" but rather our clients. Sometimes we have to work overtime to keep the machine running smoothly!!

Pros

I worked at Affinitiv for nearly four years and truly enjoyed my time there. I originally supported two teams under the leadership of Kyle Dimitris and Candice Pifer before being full time under Candice with the Connectiv Prospect team. Candice was an exceptional manager, she genuinely cared about our team not only as employees, but as individuals. She made an effort to connect with me on a personal level, which made me feel valued and supported throughout my time at the company. Her transparency and honesty fostered trust, and during periods of uncertainty, she provided a strong sense of stability and reassurance. Our new CEO, Sharon, also made a positive impact by holding monthly company-wide meetings. These regular updates helped me feel more informed, confident, and secure in my role compared to previous leadership. I appreciated her openness and willingness to share insights about the direction of the company. Overall, Affinitiv is a great place to work, and I am grateful for the experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

Cons

Affinitiv could improve its compensation structure. When compared to similar roles at other companies, salaries are not always competitive. Additionally, the PTO policy could be enhanced by allowing unused days to roll over, which would provide employees with greater flexibility and work-life balance. I also think they need to improve on their maternity leave policy. They only provide "maternity leave" through short-term disability and you do not receive full pay for the 8 weeks they give you.

Pros

No pros I can think of---this company doesn't even deserve a one-star rating!

Cons

There have been more than four mergers since I worked there in early 2000---from Autobytel to One Command to Auto Loop. Every merge was worse than the one before. The workload in the graphic department was abusive and never-ending. Work kept coming beginning Sunday afternoon and during weekdays I had to stay in the office for more than 12 hours. Management kept checking on me to make sure I had work every single minute. Never had time to go out to lunch and never had downtime. I was so busy that sometimes I didn't even have time to go to the restroom! To save money, they didn't even hire a coworker to work with me so I could never take any vacation or sick day. I WAS WORKING THE WORKLOAD OF FIVE TO SIX PEOPLE BUT NEVER GOT A SALARY RAISE. Can you believe that!!! The workload was brutally overwhelming and I was extremely stressful and I had TMJ (jaw) infection from this job. The job duties occupied all my times and I didn't get a chance to go for treatment but only on the weekend. This job is physically and mentally dreadful and it gives you no life and work balance!
