Pros

The benefits are great. You will receive 18 days of PTO, a week off for Christmas and every major federal holiday.

Cons

We should be student driven. However, we have to be numbers driven meaning sites success is majored on how many students attend. There is a laughable elevation done twice a semester called YPQA. If learning is supposed to be scaffolded, there is no way this measurement is completely true. However, you will receive lip service if you challenge it. So, it is a numbers games. There is also too many hands in the pot. Meaning everyone has a say so but no one really knows what they are doing. There is a disconnect from Nationals vs Local Chapters. There is no room for growth. Yes, even if you receive the highest raise possible for three years straight, you will be stuck in the same position with no possibility to grow. It is laughable that they have a person over retention however they refuse to higher within. They love to higher outside people. They don’t see value of their Program Leaders, Site Coordinators and they care some what for their Program Managers. All the surveys and nothing is really being done. A bunch of people in control who have very little knowledge of youth development. They have the nerve to say they are still a start up. They have been around for almost 30 years. That doesn’t even make sense.

Pros

The vision of the program, it's overall reach, and the children in the communities. The opportunities it gives the kids really is great. The kids are the only good thing. The place makes impact when (if) it's done correctly.

Cons

The NY leadership is absolutely horrible. Their staff turnover is the craziest thing to ever be witnessed !!!! There's tons of nepotism!!! It's about who is the favorite, and who is gunna follow what they say and not question it. It's basically led by a mean girls group. They don't like people who speak up or question them. And if they don't like YOU they'll make sure you know it and feel it up until you either quit or they find the quickest opportunity to get rid of you. HR is just as bad so don't even think about going there unless you just want to expedite your unemployment or just be dismissed acting like you're crazy for even considering speaking They don't train you but expect you to do and know a whole bunch of things It's actually ridiculous how much they preach and sell these dreams and paint the pretty picture but can be so disgusting to adults and work with KIDS. Can't speak for other chapters, but this ones got major problems. I'd be shocked if they lasted another 5 years.
