Pros
There are some really great people across IT and when you can develop the relationships across the various organizations within IT, you can get a lot done.
Cons
Communication from management to staff is relatively directive, with managers making decisions with little input from the staff who manage the technology every day. Too much reliance on outside vendors leaves Agilent employees handicapped in knowledge and ability to execute changes within the environment. Lack of documentation exacerbates the above situation, making it difficult to understand the environment within which you are trying to work. Not a lot of room for growth - unless you want to move to management. Due to the fact that so much is outsourced, skills based training is not easy to obtain.
