Flexibility, great people, and good company culture in Santa Barbara. Time off is a considerable amount when starting a new position.
Cons
I don't believe the pay is equal to other companies for equal positions. They start you off at a lower pay and yearly increases are meager. They have a 4 tiered system in place for pay increases but almost everyone gets an average rating, making it difficult to get decent increases in pay. Benefits aren't all that great either, health care can be very expensive. Other benefits such as tuition reimbursement are offered but an employee in our office was refused by HR to have their studies paid. Human resources is a big disappointment too. They don't really understand California's policies on several items but Paid Time Off in particular, so we've had to suffer for their incompetence. They NEVER answer the phone when we have questions, they take WEEKS to get back to you when you email them. AND they do NOT seem to care. HR is very frustrating for the SB office in general (Not just my opinion, others have felt the same). Here in the SB office we make a product that brings in a considerable amount of the companies revenue, about 60% or more if i'm not mistaken, but i'm sure in Bellevue, which is a new office making a new product, get paid more (I understand that the cost of living may be higher) but we make so much revenue for the company as a whole, we are under appreciated here. In our office there are several employees that work from home but it is only offered to those that are "Grandfathered" in, so they get special treatment (Same job title/position). All other employees have to work from the office, it is not offered to them.
