Cons
Merit increases are blatantly insulting. Avg is around 3%, unless you really work hard for a whole year, then you may get an extra 0.5-1% on top of that. Limited upward mobility in many teams due to some outdated policy of having at least a 1 level gap between an employee and their direct manager. All in all no real incentive to be a high performer, so a lot of status quo, and leadership pretends merit increases and opportunities are something they’re proud of and have no reason to change. IT issues almost daily Typical corporate America shadiness - layoffs immediately followed by full bonus payouts for execs, pushing for hybrid/office days when feedback from employees is consistently against that, etc
