Pros

Great culture, belief in working together towards a common goal and developing people. Most managers have an open door policy, and no matter how senior they are you can ask them anything. Great safety culture and non-retaliation policies for employees who speak out about problems.

Cons

The company can be somewhat risk averse and slow to try new things. Also the IT department was dismantled and outsourced some time ago and is now a complete mess. Their restrictions get in the way of work quite often.

Pros

I learned a lot from the teams I worked with over my tenure. If I was particularly interested in learning about certain parts of the business, I was often allowed to tackle those challenges. Mentors were very helpful and encouraging. I enjoyed the people I worked with and they always tried to open doors into other parts of the company I was interested in.

Cons

If you want to be doing mostly pure mechanical design work, there is less of that available at Air Products. Lots of opportunities for operations, project management, and EPC roles for mechanical engineers, and pressure vessel work from my perspective. In the initial round of placements, you get matched to one team (you can join or not) — it was not exactly my cup of tea from a day to day work perspective. Second round, I was able to join a team where I absolutely loved doing the day to day work.
