Pros

Good Benefits. Vacations and paid time off. District Managers and AVP are great try their best to be fair and help employees where they are allowed. Met great people who were fun to work with.

Cons

Not all districts are run the same. Poor “UPPER” management with no clue as to what goes on with the day to day operations of Airgas as a whole and their locations. Requiring AVP’s and District Managers to be miracle workers always having to fix issues that were not necessary and could’ve been avoided. Poor training and support for the employees. Run extremely short staffed and require others to do the job of many. Manage in fear with some employees allowing them to get away with unethical behavior. Safety is supposed to be #1 at Airgas above everything and it’s situational. Spend less time talking and more time doing. Airgas management will leave stores staffed with one person handling cylinders and running store at same time. This is not safe and creates staff to be exhausted, completely unsafe and resentful. Employees are not valued or looked upon as an asset for their hard work, dedication and commitment. Low morale with in Regions ( Northeast/SNE specifically). Airgas’s problems are a result of a company that refuses to fix its dysfunctional culture Airgas upper managerial stubbornness to sheer incompetence.

Pros

Steady work with consistent OT. Pay is average. They employ a minimal number of drivers (and equipment) so you will definitely get your hours. If someone leaves, takes PTO, or a truck goes down, it gets spread across the remaining drivers.

Cons

Benefits are average at best. Most drivers are expected to work holidays. PTO is approved on seniority basis so don’t plan on being home with family during these times. No shortage of micromanagement. Definitely feel like a line item on a spreadsheet somewhere and not a human.
