      Pros

      Get rope rescue training. Many of the guys that work there are firefighters or have at least completed a fire academy so there is a degree of professionalism.

      Cons

      The assignments are never set in stone. Most of the work is not local. End dates for projects change frequently.

      Pros

      Steady work with consistent OT. Pay is average. They employ a minimal number of drivers (and equipment) so you will definitely get your hours. If someone leaves, takes PTO, or a truck goes down, it gets spread across the remaining drivers.

      Cons

      Benefits are average at best. Most drivers are expected to work holidays. PTO is approved on seniority basis so don’t plan on being home with family during these times. No shortage of micromanagement. Definitely feel like a line item on a spreadsheet somewhere and not a human.
