Pros
Aiven is a company where one can grow and where the sky really is the limit. Prove what you can do, and you'll be given responsibility. The company is very transparent in what is going on, and people's questions are taken seriously e.g. through regular ask me anything sessions. The company's values Ownership, Openness and Courage show in the transparency within the company, the rather big boots people are allowed to try and the low hierarchy, which I think reflects the Finnish/Nordic roots of the company. That being said, it's important to stress how international Aiven really is. Being 'remote' is not a thing, since you'll have colleagues on other continents. I look forward to what the future at Aiven holds.
Cons
Since the company is growing so fast, it's impossible to avoid the growth pain. It's important to keep the agile ways of working at the same time as the company could have more processes in place. This to make sure everyone is treated fairly. I don't think the intention ever would be to treat people unfairly, but documented guidelines makes it easier to make fair and transparent decisions. The industry is overall lacking female representatives, and Aiven is not an exception. In Aiven's executive team and board of directors, one can only see two female representatives: the VP People and VP Marketing.
