Pros
- Although known as a network company Akamai is also putting a lot of effort and investment in its software: in the Luna department for instance we are moving from a monolithic architecture to state-of-the-art SOA web-services and it's a great challenge and environment to work in - The company is investing a lot in Kraków: new offices with game room and a lot of space, good compensation and career possibilities, good life/work balance, monthly "after-works"... Akamai is a great company to work for in Poland - Test team is growing as well and there are very interesting challenges in there: fast-paced agile development, a lot of test automation in backend and frontend, freedom to choose technologies, Continuous Integration... There are few places where all this comes together as nicely as here.
Cons
Although already working on it, Akamai's products are so varied and sometimes complex that it's a bit overwhelming at the beginning. However there is a good division of work among development centers and it does not take long to focus on what your team is working on.
