Pros

From associates to sales staff, everyone seems to generally be well versed in content delivery and now cloud security due in part to the 2-4 months of training (whiteboards) you go through. Pay is very competitive if you can maintain top performer status and the culture is very supportive.

Cons

Movement within the company has slowed down and with recent layoffs, some groups may have lost some of that startup feel it had years ago. Some of the perks like group lunches and paid attendance at conferences seems to have gone away to try and appease investors which can leave employees with a sour taste

Pros

Work Life Balance Rewarding Work and Responsibilities Quality Benefits Stock Options & Compensation are competitive Continuing Education Reimbursement Diversity of the community

Cons

Akamai is still learning to grow into the enterprise-level organization it strives to be. There are no major cons to share in effort to discourage someone from applying, but like most jobs, few are perfect.
