Pros

I love the company’s public image. AAG really knows how to take care of its customers. It also provides stellar benefits to its employees!

Cons

Too many politics. Too much drama. Too set in their old traditional ways! I previously worked in a similar capacity at another airline. It’s been a very tough adjustment and as an outsider it is interesting to observe the dynamics between the Alaska, Virgin, and Horizon operations. The longtime Alaska and Horizon employees are very set in their ways and not very open to newer philosophies. In many ways I feel that I’ve taken a step backwards in my career. The department I work in is a mess. They are way behind the rest of the industry but try and operate under such a grandiose plan. Also feel much more excluded. Not valued for my skills and used as a dumping ground for work

Pros

The travel benefits are excellent, and the job offers opportunities to meet people from all over the world. My coworkers were supportive, teamwork was strong, and no two days were ever the same. The role helped me build confidence, improve customer service skills, and learn how to stay calm under pressure.

Cons

The schedule can be unpredictable, with long duty days, early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays away from family. The job can also be physically demanding, and dealing with difficult passengers can be stressful.
