Pros

Great employee area tourism benefits if you have time to enjoy them. Alaska is a beautiful location to live. Management is overall organized even for a seasonal position. Overall chill job, amazing people working there and many life-long friends from it.

Cons

Due to seasonal natural of position it is not year round. This leads to a number of disconnects in flow of work as many employees are new, overlaps occur and your role if in management as I was can feel more like standing around as a face of the company than doing actual work, which again is fine as it's expected in these roles.

Pros

Beautiful and unique work setting aboard domed railcars in Alaska's wilderness. Substantial tips for FoH employees. Company often promotes from within. Free cruise at the end of seasonal contract. Because a normal shift is 10+ hours, accrue overtime pay quickly. Very friendly company, you will not struggle to make connections. Excellent networking for other seasonal opportunities.

Cons

Long shifts and overnight travel required every shift. Housing NOT provided in Anchorage. Strict uniform policy. Communication frequently impeded by remoteness of travel, flexibility a must.
