Pros

Great to experience working in Alaska, likes to promote from within, and a good start if you would like to have a career in hospitality. Employee housing is not cheap, but is subsidized by the company and much cheaper than local options.

Cons

Employee housing is not for the faint of heart. Bring your own roommate, if you can.

Pros

Beautiful and unique work setting aboard domed railcars in Alaska's wilderness. Substantial tips for FoH employees. Company often promotes from within. Free cruise at the end of seasonal contract. Because a normal shift is 10+ hours, accrue overtime pay quickly. Very friendly company, you will not struggle to make connections. Excellent networking for other seasonal opportunities.

Cons

Long shifts and overnight travel required every shift. Housing NOT provided in Anchorage. Strict uniform policy. Communication frequently impeded by remoteness of travel, flexibility a must.
