Pros

Alaska is such a beautiful place to work over the summer. The company essentially offers the chance to vacation and get paid for it.

Cons

Shifts were very long and not always consistent. The pay was not great but the benefits were. Employees got a number of HUGE discounts on outings, tours and housing was very reasonable.

Pros

Beautiful and unique work setting aboard domed railcars in Alaska's wilderness. Substantial tips for FoH employees. Company often promotes from within. Free cruise at the end of seasonal contract. Because a normal shift is 10+ hours, accrue overtime pay quickly. Very friendly company, you will not struggle to make connections. Excellent networking for other seasonal opportunities.

Cons

Long shifts and overnight travel required every shift. Housing NOT provided in Anchorage. Strict uniform policy. Communication frequently impeded by remoteness of travel, flexibility a must.
