Pros

Albany Medical Center is a wonderful place to gain experience and learn. It is a large, academic hospital with a diverse environment. As a Respiratory Therapist, you can develop a strong foundation for your future.

Cons

While AMC is a great place to learn, it comes with its challenges. Working as a Respiratory Therapist can be difficult mainly due to poor management. The department itself has amazing potential, but it is inhibited by poor management that lacks the ability to embrace their employees. Pay is also very low. Begining RT salary is only around $21 per hour.

Very mission driven with emphasis on the patient experience. Sincere understanding of the difficulties that go with the work. Job satisfaction knowing you are impacting your community on a broader scale. Diverse workforce with emphasis on respect for all.

Cons

Can be lower paying for positions but is consistent with a not for profit. Staffing.
