Pros
The only positives about my job are my coworkers.
Cons
The administration cares more about the bottom line and their own benefits than patient care and the hospital staff. We are constantly asked to do more with less. We are chronically short staffed and it is only getting worse. The Department of Health is routinely inspecting us for our staffing and patient safety issues. Many staff members have to work multiple jobs to make ends meet while the hospital leadership continue to make millions a year. They are actively trying to reduce our already measly annual raise amount from a maximum of 3% to a maximum of 1.5%. Our benefits are terrible with no retirement contributions unless you are management or have billable hours. Our former CEO who retired in 2019 is still on the payroll making six figures. We have the worst ER wait times in NY state and some of the worst in the nation. This is a colossal failure of the hospital leadership and they should be removed from their positions.
