Pros
I love the model of care. Having a supportive leadership team that has the same caring heart as clinicians is extremely important. We have that supportive leadership team here and I am so fulfilled every day. The leaders value our efforts and adjust our workload accordingly. The team works together to ensure clinicians are able to provide patient-centered care. Taking care of our patients and each other has become the culture of the team.
Cons
The EMR system leaves much to be desired. There are some redundancies when documenting both the JSA questionnaire and H&P in Allscripts for each patient. A large population of our members speak Spanish in the Los Angeles area. Although we use the language line to assist, language barrier is still a huge challenge for clinicians who do not speak Spanish.
