Pros

Offers competitive pay and some opportunities to learn and increase skills. There was once a great team in place here, but can't speak to the environment now since almost the entire team left.

Cons

Low morale due to constant micro management and frequent asks of unpaid overtime. The organizational structure is intentionally setup to limit interaction between anyone doing the work and those who actually make decisions. There is absolutely no way to safely voice concerns if you have a director who doesn't care about your opinion. Huge focus on compliance and unquestioned loyalty including daily "call to care" meetings that have no relevance to IT staff. Most employees were afraid to question decisions or speak up about things they didn't like. Several people were let go in my time there for being "troublemakers". Lacking in many of the basic resources in both hardware and software to have a modern functioning IT department. The ask was to do "more with less". The business side is completely unwilling to change long standing and mostly outdated practices and instead expects developers to constantly refactor and change scope. Simple projects take months due to lack of proper understanding of what the business actually needs. Not every team there seemed as poorly run as the one described above, but beware that there are many issues I observed that spoke to issues as a department and not just a single team.

They just acquired our practice. Good communication so far.

Cons
