Pros
AST cares deeply about its employees and engages in many fun, career benefiting and moral boosting activities. For instance, they paid for mine and many of my coworkers' PMP certifications including the required training, they also trust their employees to think outside of the normal way we work with our clients by encouraging creative problem solving and solutions, and on top of that they sponsor happy hours, family picnics, and sporting events.
Cons
AST is bound by government contracts so many times promotional opportunities grow from recognition by the client and AST. But if you are a great employee they do materialize.
