Pros

Great ops crews that keep the lights on!

Cons

It makes me sad that many of the executives live OUTSIDE of Iowa or Wisconsin and work remotely the majority of the time. Why??? They are out of touch with the customers, communities and employees. Mostly men and Madison based employees are promoted to Director or VPs. And, promotions are a joke and not based on actual performance. It’s rare for an Iowa employee to be promoted, regardless of their outstanding work performance. Some directors are dishonest, conniving & out for only themselves. Office space is a joke. Lots of big $$$ (likely paid for by utility customers mind you…) is spent on executive suite upgrades, exec flight services ✈️ and special exec private parking areas …. Then, new hires don’t even have a desk to sit at for several months+.I’ve seen new hires start crying during their onboarding experience because there were no desks available and they didn’t feel valued. I was a longtime dedicated employee who decided to leave for a more healthy work culture.

Pros

- Decent pay - Co-workers good to work with - Home each night

Cons

- Processes and systems aren't as efficient as they could - Select managers shouldn't be in managerial roles - Executives are not in touch with middle management and field workers
