Pros

The only good thing about Allied Telesis is that if you are old and been there a long time and they cannot figure out what you do then you are assured job security.

Cons

There is no leadership The owner of the company is old and delusional about the value of the technology they own. The are not an innovator they are a slow follower. If you work in sales you will never be able to sell on a technological advantage, yet that is where there they think they are. This is largely due to senior management in the US not being unified in their direction, in fact their direction changes about every 60-90 days. With the lack of leadership there is a culture of fear for ones job and it is not my fault mentality. Managements typical response to an issue is to point blame, make a scapegoat and lie. What ever you do - do not take a job where you are working for the Chief Risk officer in any form. When you have someone with that title running sales there is no chance for success. When a sales is viewed as a liability you cannot win.

Pros

Fairly steady jobs despite the salary.

Cons

Management is failing to observe not only their product market, but also internal issues. A large quantity of employees are rounding retirement age with barely any new employees being brought on. Salary budget is painfully low so don’t expect anything but the minimum.
