Pros
Incredible flexibility for college students and people with commitment, this can be a good job for you if you need money but don't want to put too much time into a job that takes away from other responsibilities like having kids or anything else so the work-life balance here is incredibly good. Better pay per hour of $25 an hour compared to most other low entry jobs the Pay Here is Awesome compared to other jobs like McDonald's or any jobs that have a low expectation or standard that you have to meet in order to get hired there. If you're not a fan of social interaction and you simply want to just do your job and need the space to be alone this job is almost perfect for you if you don't wish to deal with the frustration of customer service interaction of speaking to the wrong kind of people AKA Karen's. If you're seeking to find a quiet place where you can just compose yourself and seek some space for yourself this is certainly the job for you you're not really tasked with too much throughout the job you're just sitting in a chair most of the time and looking at a wall this can be very boring but if you're tired of being busy all the time this job can sort of function like a break if you're overstimulated whether it be living in a noisy household and you just want some silence or go to school and it is too noisy the time this job is perfect
Cons
Micro Management in this company is very prevalent and will be very frustrating to endure over a long period of time most employees are watched through cameras that are placed in specific campuses to make sure that employees are not breaking any rules. As well as that another form of micromanagement that is very common in these kinds of work sites is if you're in a static post it is very much a normal occurrence to have a supervisor AKA a boss in other words to visit your job / work site and be able to write you up for any company rules that are not followed such as not eating on the job or using your phone they can come at any time to check on you you honestly won't see them coming the majority of the time If you work here as a flex officer you're paycheck and hours are at the mercy of whenever a company needs you to work there in an immediate moments notice or not.( for example earlier I was scheduled to work a shift that started from 9:00 in the morning all the way to 3:00 p.m. last Wednesday my job was to escort some contractors while they do their job and they finish their job in around 4 hours because of this I was done with my job and the only way I could work a bit longer was if the company needed another security guard to stay longer at another job building unfortunately I was not able to get selected to work a little bit longer because there was no need for security guards anymore since all the shifts and needs to be a security gaurd showing up have been booked up and taken by other employees in short there are too many employees and to little shifts to give out to said employees. Many of my co-workers have reported to only get an average of about 32 hours a week because of the little amount of hours available in this job at Apple Because there are too little shifts to give to employees and to many employees working realistically if you work there you're only going to get about 20 hours and if I'm being quite Frank with anyone who thinks about applying here a McDonald's employee in the Bay Area who makes $20 an hour which is a guaranteed minimum by Santa Clara County working 5 days a week for 8 hours a day will most times if not make more money per week then any employee who is working as a flex officer here in Apple Park Cupertino for Allied Universal( the only way you are able to make ends meet while holding this job is if you work a second job and that comes with its own problems) The nature of this job requires that you stand in a certain area or sit down in a certain area and basically keep watch of the area to make sure there's no suspicious activity or unauthorized entry of private property you cannot leave whatever you're assigned to work site is to use the bathroom or get water whenever you feel like it you must wait for someone to temporarily substitute you while you leave your assigned work table or work chair post before you can use the bathroom, contacts being made with the aforementioned information earlier today I was tasked with making sure that no one enters a certain part of the building at my work site without them having the authorized credentials I used my phone for less than 4 minutes to call my supervisor which according to the company policy is the only time you're allowed to use the phone and I asked to have somebody temporarily relieve me of my job duties for 10 minutes for me to use the bathroom unfortunately I was asked to be written up and I was essentially given a job warning saying that I am not supposed to be using my phone and I got told to clock out early even though their job company policy dictates you're allowed to use your phone to call a supervisor after I used my phone not even 10 minutes after trying to get a hold of the supervisor I was told that there was cameras in my work site which spotted me using my phone. This company at Apple headquarters in Cupertino California will micromanage you in a manner such as this if you like being watched 24/7 and like being babysitted and being felt like you are not trusted please take this job but if you don't mind being micromanaged and supervised 24/7 please go ahead and apply this will be one of the worst decisions you will ever make. One of the few methods that allows an employee in this position to make a good 40 hours a week with this amazing pay is by becoming a supervisor for this company that job position is guaranteed more hours than this Flex job as an unarmed security guard in Cupertino. The isolation and the mental break is relaxing but it is promptly ruined by the micromanagement done by what seems to be incompetent leaders and most importantly incompetent employers I am referring to Apple I plan to quit as soon as I get a better job if you know what's good for you and care about your mental health and don't like worrying about next month's bills being paid please do not apply for this job or work here you will do your mental health and disservice and your finances and the most honest way that can describe this job without trying to be professional about it this job absolutely sucks.
