Pros

- Your coworkers... that is the only reason 80% of employees are still with Allstate. - PTO time is generous. 22 days to start. 27 days after 5 years of service. You can also buy 5 additional PTO days.

Cons

Where do I start? First and MOST important...Allstate FREQUENTLY has massive layoffs. Allstate decided to lay off tens of thousands of employees in November of 2020. Covid-19 had absolutely nothing to with with this as this was all in the works since December 2019. Each time they have massive layoffs... they realize that they are then understaffed and have to scramble to fill roles. When this happens... can you guess who the additional workload falls back onto...? The ones left standing. - The workload is unmanageable to 90% of the adjusters, therefore, if you are able to keep up with your desk... you will find yourself bailing everyone else out... OFTEN. - To follow on that, if you work ahead... if till APPEAR that you have a lot of free time to help others... even if you work on your personal time to feel somewhat sane. - What is expected in your role changes almost daily. No one in the organization knows which way is up at any given moment. - If you ask a sample of reps how they feel about their jobs or the company... 95% of them will say that they are unhappy. People are dropping like flies and it is a testimony to the work conditions. - They are so desperate to fill seats that they will promote people who are completely undeserving and that is shown after a short time. - There used to be frequent development / promotional opportunities. Those have become nearly inexistent in the past few years. - Your general progression is Liability Determination to Unrepresented to Represented. This is likely your ceiling unless you are one of the favorites. They know who they want for a position before the position is even posted. - There will be excuses as to why you weren’t promoted (pay band promotion) and false promises will be made. EVEN when you have a top tier rating, it will not be enough. Your promotion will come a day later and a dollar short. - I was fortunate to be under great leadership, but the overall organization couldn’t care less about you or any employee for that matter. - Tom Wilson / Glen Shapiro are literally ruining this company on the employees end. - They used to offer Distinguished Performer Awards for a handful of employees from each office, that went out of the window a few years back. I could likely go on for days about the cons when it comes to working for this organization. You are not respected, you are not valued, and you are not going to matter regardless of how hard you work. I was once proud to say that I worked for this company. Ever since senior leadership has come into force, the company has become unrecognizable. Allstate in 2021 is not even close to the company that I started at years ago. I can say with confidence that I gave my all and gave more than 90% of the other reps. That was still not enough. I truly hope for my former coworkers sakes that this company takes a turn for the better, though my hopes are not very high.

Cons

- I haven't been micromanage this bad since working in a call center!!! - the tools you use to do your job feels like micromanagement. Its very slow moving as well. Every thing takes so long to load while you're trying to speed through your work. - you will receive an email about every single little thing you did wrong - you will not receive praise for anything - you will need to protect yourself by maintaining documentation of what was asked of you, because it will be later explained that it doesn't matter what was said, you should have researched it yourself (even when you're brand new). - when they are wronf about a reprimand they just gave you, don't expect a reply or an apology - they will make sudden changes that severely impacts your job at a moments notice and wonder why you are behind - I was advised a manageable workload is 20-30 claims. My whole team had 90+ claims. - The turn over rate is exceptionally high. Over the course of a year I started 7 people quit within. 3 additional people were fired. - you're going to beg for help and they aren't going to help you, and they are going to tell you that YOU are the problem. - currently, all the hires are being shielded from the hot mess. They are trying to change things by pushing all the people who suffered through the mess they created to put a positive spin on the job and I guess preserve moral. - the job itself wouldnt be difficult (because the work is relatively easy), but its VERY disorganized. You will feel like you work in a call center, but this time, you have to return voicemails, emails and text messages. - 2nd worse job experience in my entire life - AND THE PAY IS BELOW INDUSTTY STANDARDS!!! There are no bonuses.
