Pros

You can purchase an additional week of PTO If you are fortunate enough to get out of claims, there are other departments that may show more respect for employees.

Cons

Minimal holidays, no floating holidays, no bonus, weekend work that is not disclosed during interview. Should have been a red flag when during training the trainer announced that turnover within the first year was running at about 70 percent. Adjusters have little to no autonomy; constant reminders about the many infractions you can commit that will get you fired vs. focus on things that are done well. Emails were sent with customer survey results to all adjusters with the names of the adjusters and the comments and score they received - positive and negative - the equivalent of corporate shaming if you happen to be on the receiving end of the bad reviews that may not be justified and may be personally insulting. This may have stopped after some justifiable objections, but the fact that management did it in the first place with no regard for the impact tells you all you need to know. Unrelenting workload that destroys any chance of work/life balance. If an adjuster leaves, their inventory is shared on their team and not necessarily equally. Not farfetched to have 60 claims shared between only two adjusters while others get none. Management is not oblivious to what this will due to the morale of these poor souls whose workloads have doubled overnight. They just don't care. Adjusters are clearly expendable, in spite of the fact that they can't find qualified candidates to replace those that exit to save their health and sanity. Usually there is good camaraderie among team members in the spirit of "misery loves company." Not necessarily in this work environment where some team members are blatantly disrespectful to their teammates and their managers. Not particularly customer friendly -- quick to deny coverage vs. looking for coverage. The customer is not the enemy. All in all, not what you might expect from the "good hands people."

Pros

Work from home. Good hours

Cons

Jesus where do we start, the recruiter lied about what i was selling. When you get into the two month training they give you occurrences for any pre existing appointments you dont tell the recruiter about. Mind you the recruiter hired me months before training started. Training was really awful. Was clear no one had an education background. It was very difficult to follow. When you finally wake up from the snore festival in training you are met with micromanagement and constant tech issues. Every time you have a daily tech issue. You then have to put in a ticket explaining the issue and they will deny it with out reason. Between workforce management and Q and A they will nit pic you into no oppurtunity. You think you got a sweet alstate job but you find out your working for bottom feeding sales people that lie and cheat to get ahead.
