Pros

1. Free insurance if you are single

Cons

1. Company does not care about you as a contractor. It wasn't until my 2-week notice did my PM ask me what team I was on. How can they determine my compensation if it took them over a year to find out what my position/role was. 2. Need assistance for Human Resources? I have an ongoing issue that was raised over a year ago. The issue was brought back up 2 months ago. Now I have an email chain between me and HR. About a dozen emails sent to them, with no real updates. PM and CEO are both cc'd. In order to receive any information, I had to start calling the HR department. 3. Medical leave/issues? Good luck coming back. A coworker of mine had cancer, he left on medical leave. I find out later that because AOI failed to communicate with the Prime contractor, this employee was denied from returning after beating cancer. 4. Understaffed team or project? Over the 2 years that AOI has been a subcontractor for this project, I have never seen them fill a position. I've been missing a deputy manager for a year, as well as an imaging person (see 3 for coworker with cancer). 5. AOI has a noncompete in their handbook that will raise issues if any other company on the contract attempts to hire you. My deputy manager left because he was unable to transition over to the Prime contractor. I was told by the Prime that I am in the same boat. The Prime would have to deal with the noncompete.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for your recommendation. We’re glad to hear that you’ve experienced strong professional and career growth and found the environment supportive—those are areas we work hard to foster across the organization. We also appreciate your candid input regarding compensation. We understand how important it is for our employees, particularly in technical roles, to feel that their remuneration reflects both the market and the value they bring. This is something we continuously review as part of our ongoing efforts to remain competitive and reward our team appropriately. Thank you again for sharing your perspective and for your contributions during your time with us. We wish you continued success in your career.

Pros

Pay was above market salaries for the role. Now I know why.

Cons

-Horrible management and leadership, zero empathy or support, very combative and degrading. -Horrible HR staff, combative and immature, zero empathy or support. -As consultants billing to the client, the expectation is you work/bill full 40hr weeks to the client but AO leaders schedule mid day status calls with zero clue you are busy supporting the client and billing. If you do not prepare or attend the AO calls, your manager will make snarky degrading comments like 'you would know that if you attended the weekly status calls!!' Zero clue on what the consultants are going through to support clients. It is a disaster.
