Pros

I enjoyed my time with the other employees at Alphagraphics and had the opportunity to learn more in my field of work.

Cons

Not only does the owner of the Woodlands play favorites and allow the most unbelievable disrespect to happen throughout the office, but he is also a crook and a liar. I would caution anyone going into a job here to document everything, make sure that you keep records, and only talk about business decisions with this owner if someone else is present, if at all possible. One year ago, to avoid having to give me a raise on my anniversary of working there, I was promised a significant bonus if our sales for the next year hit a certain quota- regardless that I was not in sales. I agreed, believing I could trust his word. I should have known better. He claims to "not remember" the conversation, although two weeks ago he remembered it and promised the bonus would be on my next check. Suddenly, he has amnesia and is stating that no bonus will be received. He spoke to other employees about this situation, and on many occasions stirred up strife and drama himself in the office by speaking to others about things said in private with the employees. If you want a job where the owner makes promises he has absolutely no intention of keeping, allows some employees to leave whenever they want, but holds other's feet to the fire if they don't come in and work weekends, talks badly about the people in his employ to others in the office, and changes policies just about every week- then you'll love this place. If you want a professional environment and positive culture driven by professional management, this isn't the place for you-so beware.

Pros

Working as a Graphic Designer at AlphaGraphics was a positive experience overall. One of the biggest advantages was having direct access to the CEO and leadership team, which made communication straightforward and allowed ideas and solutions to move quickly. The environment is fast paced and driven by real production demands, giving designers exposure to a wide variety of projects and practical problem solving. While the pace is steady, deadlines were generally reasonable and achievable. As with most print shops, occasional last minute emergencies happen, but they are considered part of the industry rather than the exception. Overall, AlphaGraphics is a good fit for designers who enjoy a hands on environment, working closely with production, and being involved in both creative and operational aspects of the business.

Cons

The main challenge is the level of multitasking required. If you prefer focusing on a single project at a time, you may find the environment demanding. Some situations require the entire team to come together to solve production or operational issues, which means stepping away from the computer and assisting in other areas of the business for a few hours when needed. Flexibility and a team first mindset are important to succeed in this role.
