Pros
I was hired to be a licensed sales agent for HCSC-Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. What I love most about the job is the fact that the company pays for you to get your California Life and Health Insurance License for 6 different states including California. Even though the position is temporary, mainly during opening enrollment. It provides you an opportunity for a career in the insurance field and a opportunity to return the following year and subsequent years as long as you maintain renewing your license after it expires. The pay is awesome and the hours are good which ranged from 30 to 40 hours a week. During the first week of training is a 40 work week. And the company provides training for Salesforce, Citrex, Lotus Notes, Producer Portal, which are great selling points to know for other employment elsewhere.
Cons
Because I am a postive and realistic person I know no company is perfect. Things that could be better is leadership. There are a few team leaders that are short in there responses when you ask them for help, and you dread going to them, because they look at you as if you like your bugging them. Also, there is so much information to learn that its almost impossible to learn everything before getting on the phones so alot of your learning is when you are on the phone, which can be uncomfortable. The best advice I could give you is learn where to look for the information you will need before you get on the phones it will make your experiance so much better, all of the information will be on the computer you just need to know where to look.
