Pros

1. A nice place to earn a little extra money. 2. Eligible for some benefits as a part-timer. 3. Paid Downtime 4. You do not operate your own vehicle. 5. Company pays for gas, service, and tolls. 6. set schedule with options for overtime Paid better than Uber and Lyft with premium hourly pay for evening hours ... Let me say this. I read a lot of negative comments about, not being able to take restroom breaks. I was really annoyed by this at first too but after you've been with the company long enough you'll find you groove... And the key is communicating with dispatch! If you notice you've been at a staging location a while... Go ahead and drive to the nearest restroom... Let dispatch know you're headed to the nearest restroom... Then when you get close to the nearest restroom, put yourself on a break and go use the restroom... If it's super serious and you get an a trip... Except the trip and still go to the freaking restroom! As for the downtime... Bring snacks. Bring something to do while you're in the car in your downtime. Use that time to step out of the vehicle and stretch. Alto has a strict policy about being on your phone while you're in the middle of a trip or while the vehicle is moving. You shouldn't be on your phone while you're driving anyways. But when you have those down periods, get on your freaking phone. Check in with your family and do whatever you got to do... If you need to make a phone call, put yourself on a quick break and make an emergency phone call.

Cons

1. Unrealistic time expectations to clean your car at times. - This is something you have to get in your groove with as well. The time to clean the vehicle, especially if you're making trips downtown is unrealistic. This needs to be fixed. 2. Uniform stipend, they give you 1shirt, a cap and a grey jacket with the alto name You have to buy the shoes (white or black) and black dress pants. I listed this as a con but it wasn't a deal breaker because who doesn't have a pair of black pants already. And it's mostly the shoes. I wish that they would give drivers the option to wear more comfortable shoes. Maybe not Crocs or slides, but something slightly more comfortable. The next three are my three biggest cons of working with Alto. 1. If your shift ends at 5:00 pm they will assign you a shift at 4:45 or 4:50 now pushing you over your end of shift time. Lately when this happens I asked them if they can reassign that trip especially if I have something I really need to do. Sometimes I don't mind the extra time, especially since I'm part-time. 2. Customers cannot tip on app. The only way customers can tip you is with cash and the type of customers that we drive don't typically carry cash. - we're instructed to tell them that we don't accept cash because we're hourly, but a lot of passengers get bothered by that and think that it's not right that they're not able to tip us and I agree! 3. Even though the pay is better than Uber and Lyft, the base pay is still really low. I really do think the base pay should be raised
