Pros
Benefits are competitive Pay is good Company outings are fun but are only conducted at very large sales meetings (then back to the grind)
Cons
Autonomy to manage one's time is not synonomous with autonomy to implement your own strategies or deviate from existing sales methodologies. As a sales manager you would like to think that you are given the autonomy to develop your own strategies and structure to effectively lead a group of sales reps to be as successful as possible....but you are not. The majority of my collegues and the employess that directly report to me have almost universally agreed that our workload has significantly increased, job satisfaction has decreased, and constantly shifting business focus and sales initiatives make this company a less enjoyable one to work for. The effect of which is that our business has declined, and do not mean within the realm of the tobacco industry, which is constantly shrinking due to lower consumer demand. What I mean to point out is that our business is declining relative to our competition (the other existing tobacco companies).
