Pros
I joined Altria right out of college and it is a great place to start a career. It is a well known Fortune 100 company where you can get great training and experience. Also, the pay isn't too shabby for a 23 year old either...honestly I can't say any of my friends were making 60k for a marketing/sales position besides me. Altria offers great pay for recent grads, good benefits (including a chevy traverse and they pay for gas, insurance, etc.), and the people I work with are great.
Cons
The promotion track at Altria is horrible, it's extremely political and you will never get the city you actually want. This company will ship you off to the middle of nowhere (I know a 26 year old living in North Dakota) and expect you to waste the prime time of your life climbing the corporate ladder. This might not sound too bad but this job is lonely, there is no office to meet people, you are by yourself all day (expect when dealing with creepy store owners who try and hit on you), and maybe see your coworkers 1x a month, besides sitting and eating lunch in your car. I'm paying my dues and heading out... Also, they bombard you with work, it is unbelievable..
