Good mission turned into highly toxic work environment - Anonymous employee Altruist (CA) Employee Review

Announcement of RTO coming out of nowhere. At least 50% of all employees are not even located in CA. Most have families, young kids or own property that they're expected to sell and relocate to LA. Zero empathy from upper management when this issue was addressed. I got told that I can be lucky to even have a job given the current economy. HR Team is proud that they stayed "under budget" for this review cycle while a lot of people didn't even get cost of living adjustments or any other raise, even if all OKRs have been hit (and exceeded) by miles. Lots of praise from middle management and also exec team during All Hands, but no rewarding actions whatsoever, we're just expected to "keep on grinding". Lack of structure and no interest in people's career development. Good work will not get rewarded.
