Pros

No job objectives, so hard for anyone to argue that you have not met your performance objectives. Very easy to "hide in the weeds" - no real oversight to make sure you are being productive.

Cons

Believe all of the negative posts you read on this site about AmTrust. No onboarding training, per se. Many people in management roles that have no business managing people. Nepotism abounds. (Its all about who you know or are related to or sleeping with). The company grows through acquisitions. Unfortunately, they do not have solid processes and resources in place to sustain that growth for the long haul. Typically hire in via contract. Job titles do not always reflect job responsibilities. Everyone in my group was called "Testing Analyst" but more accurately, some were "Business Analysts" or "Project Managers". Pay rates are significantly below market. Like to hire the young and inexperienced (I guess they are easier to control and manipulate). Not a place to work if you have any legitimate career aspirations. Poor work environment...my first 2 months there, I sat in a different department (overcrowded on my floor) where people seemingly did not have much else to do other than tell stories, take long breaks/lunches, and spew profanities for all to hear.

Pros

Co-workers are amazing. Managers are helpful.

Cons

Rolling out an incomplete new operating system was a horrible idea. Creates additional work for adjusters. The processes being implemented are hindering the ability to effectively close claims. Adjusters are being told to do more with less every day. Claim counts average 180 to 200 for the last 6 months with no relief in sight. Hybrid work was promised at 2 home and 3 in office. That was recently revoked and it is now mandatory 4 days in office. With gas prices what they are, that really hurts. Corporate management seems to be focused more on obtaining #1 status and bringing in the big bucks than finding a way to relieve the stress on their employees. Mental health is non existent and if you aren't putting in 50+ hours a week there is no way to stay on top of your work load. Even then you will feel like you are barely treading water. New NICE phone system is for call centers-not claim adjusters. Not a lot of advancement opportunities unless you are someone's pet. Benefits are mediocre at best.
