Pros
Great product and a lot of talented people. It is fantastic to work for a product that really cares about it's customers. Customers rave about Ama because it does go above and beyond for it's customers. Ama has a good amount of hard working talented people within the company. Doesn't micro-mange their employees but was starting to on my way out.
Cons
Socially the most difficult job I have ever worked at. I had managers tell me and my friends in year end reviews that we needed to be more social and how we fit in socially with the company would effect our overall success at the company (which is illegal but it happened). If you are rich or very good looking you will be fine. If you are weird, different, or not a knock out it will be a tougher path for you at Ama. Not enough growth. If you want to work in reservations you will work there for years before you are taken off the phones. Management is always asking you to be professional but employees follow by example. I heard inappropriate things from middle management and one in particular has a hard time controlling his emotions. You never know what you are going to get. Finally, they are so focused on the customer and give so much money away to keep them happy they have to make it up somewhere right? Right! So as employees whether on the boats or off they all tend to make less than other companies.
