The work environment was impacted by favoritism and frequently shifting expectations. Responsibilities expanded beyond the original role, including tasks outside the job scope, and those added duties were later used as performance criteria. Expectations were not clearly communicated and changed over time. While leadership principles such as “Have Backbone; Disagree and Commit” are promoted, in practice it did not feel safe to disagree or raise concerns, as doing so appeared to negatively affect performance evaluations.
