Pros

Pay was great. decent health insurance. brilliant people.

Cons

If you don't mind selling your soul to the devil for a paycheck that you won't even get to enjoy, than this is the place for you. imagine coming up with and inventing new processes and having them stolen by the shift managers everyday who in turn return the favor by constantly riding you for petty things. or having 10+ years management and operations experience and these newbs from college talking to you like you're a toddler and micromanaging the daylights out of you. all the while asking you to micromanage the associates (who are grown adults). Literally the most toxic environment i have ever been in, in my entire career. there is Zero development. its basically live or die. its disheartening seeing new batches of people from operations down to associates getting hired with high hopes and bright faces just to see them after only 3 weeks withdrawn, dead and zombielike. Amazon will literally suck the life out of you. People are always condescending and blatantly disrespectful. I have to this day never met anyone that likes their job. they try and make the job seem glamorous when they hire you but the reality is, its the same repetitive thing, over and over and for the love of God, over again. tossing boxes, babysitting employees, complaining about the job and "teams". lather, rinse, repeat. lather, rinse, repeat. Shift managers literally do nothing but sit on their laptops all day pretending to work while shift assistants get run into the ground (actually doing the work) while they run the associates into the ground. super high turnover. nobody stays for more than a year unless they're contractually obligated to. i have never been so bored or under stimulated in my life. you will NOT work less then 14 hrs a day and you will NOT get a lunch break. I don't care what they pretend. its not even possible to fully sit and eat before things hit the fan. AGAIN. Keep running "lean" amazon. :) Don't say i didn't warn you. Oh and moving to ANY other department won't make a difference. you will get stabbed in the back, thrown under the bus, AND run into the ground no matter where you end up :) Lots of career opportunity if you're willing to slaughter people to get to the top. Which doesn't stop anyone in there. What kills me is why would you even want to go ANYWHERE in this company?! have some integrity and dignity! i talked an assistant station manager from another company out of taking an offer as an area manager at amazon. i may have saved his life. Side note- I never met an Ops manager that I didn't like. That's about it. Show stops there.

Pros

Really smart people, a lot of opportunity for growth, always encouraged to be innovative, think big, and create something new. Competitive salary and benefits with other major tech companies. 100% self motivating work environment. No dress code and 4 legged friends are welcome.

Cons

You have to be self motivated. NO ONE will hold your hand and tell you that you're doing a great job. If you need constant affirmations from management, this company isn't for you.
