Pros
Amazon is a leader in the cloud. Although other companies are catching up (Google), Amazon has provided a huge opportunity to grow my career. As a TAM, you will learn something new everyday. Each day is a little different from the other. I constantly adjust our focus through the day jumping from customer issues, to leading trainings, to improving the internal teams and business. I work fully remote with a “fairly” flexible schedule. My manager is pretty awesome, but I have heard of some that can be challenging.
Cons
As mentioned, this is a flexible/remote job. However Amazon is always looking to fill that time with other things. This year the goals have been more focused on what you can do for Amazon instead of what you can do for your customers. Perhaps this is due to the layoffs of specialists, but they are expecting TAMs and others to engage in a lot of projects within the business that take up more than the allotted time in the weeks schedule. This can put a strain on people causing me to feel burnout. There is also a lot of pressure to make sure you exceed these goals. You are measured by all TAMs, not just those who are on your same level/experience.
