Pros

The only pro I can say about working as a driver associate for a DSP is the $20.25(when you actually get the work the days you are scheduled) - I like that I use the Amazon app, I wear the Amazon uniform and deliver Amazon packages! - Amazon is Corporate and DSP owners are basically general managers!! - the station to pick up packages is designed like airport which is efficient for load out

Cons

- never innovating and providing drivers with straps to hold down packages on the shelves or in the van. Most cargo vans don’t have shelves at all so good luck - 1 day of on the job training where you better hope you come across every situation you may ever need to know (impossible) - DSP management picks favorites and if you aren’t one, forget an electric van- expect the worst cargo vans that they’re praying start up one last time before they completely fall a part. One day I had to drive around with a side mirror. - seatbelts broken in some Amazon EVs - ask a question to operations or management and they have no patience/ treat you like a child - Amazon won’t have your packages ready in time and then will rush you off the launch pad during load out - 8-12 hour days driving and getting in an out of a van hundreds of times, following unnecessary rules that police officers wouldn’t enforce like wearing a seatbelt in a neighborhood driving 5-10 mph while doing over 100 stops there - delivering 300 packages a day and up to 100 of those apartment complexes where you HAVE to deliver every package to the door on the 3rd story because nobody has any sympathy for anybody nowadays - multiple times I’ve had a cargo van backed COMPLETELY full from back door to cargo door and told to deal with it - everything you do in an Amazon EV is being watched by the on the road team! Congrats you’re now on Amazon TV, and they will publicly post the video of you in your van to humiliate you if you picked up the phone to try to flip the map right side up again because for some reason when you’re delivering Amazon flex without EV it ALWAYS thinks you’re driving the other way at first - no actual help from DSP or Amazon to be able to fix broken packages that end up in our carts during loadout - showing up half the time to find that you had no route all along but you’re on the shift - on Amazon flex app there’s supposed to be hour (8:40-9:40) of time that I’m allowed to get there by to pick my packages up, but DSP schedules you for 9:15 and gives your route away by 9:25. Make it make sense. - showing up 5 minutes late and losing your entire shift - Deliver your packages in “ALL” weather, regardless of if it will end up being damaged or not (you’ll probably die before they send somebody home) - at every point delivery drivers are given the liability and blame when Amazon fails to do their part in a way that even remotely sets us up for success - absolutely terrible map GPS, good luck delivering anywhere - thought you were basically the mailman and don’t want their mail flying away so you use their mail box? NOPE! Congrats you got a Stage 2 package mishandling! - Amazon only gives DSPs water to provides water for drivers when it’s over 90 degrees. - DSP Human Resources are as worthless as trying to wear a poncho in a thunderstorm and tornado! My shoes were still soaked even when I got home! - DSPs work for Amazon and do everything they need without any pushback and don’t fight for their drivers whatsoever. - Amazon customer complaints go directly to DSP and Amazon notates your Amazon Flex Account

Pros

Really smart people, a lot of opportunity for growth, always encouraged to be innovative, think big, and create something new. Competitive salary and benefits with other major tech companies. 100% self motivating work environment. No dress code and 4 legged friends are welcome.

Cons

You have to be self motivated. NO ONE will hold your hand and tell you that you're doing a great job. If you need constant affirmations from management, this company isn't for you.
