Pros
You're your own boss and on paper you get to work when you'd like. The pay is a better than most jobs without degrees and you get to explore parts of the city you probably wouldn't have seen otherwise.
Cons
There is a lot of competition therefore working when you want only applies if you're able to beat out other drivers in choosing your desired shifts. You also have to pay for your own gasoline which takes away from the decent earnings. Since it's an independent contractor position, expect to pay taxes if it's your only main source of income. Lastly, you don't get to choose which route you receive. Sometimes you'll get an easy, nearby route and sometimes you'll get a tough, high-mileage route.
