Pros
I was paid 13.50/hour for the night shift, I'm a night owl so I thought it would be a good position for me, and there was free tea and coffee available in the break room.
Cons
If you needed to go to the bathroom while you were working on any of the conveyer belts, you needed to find someone to cover your position, if you couldn't you couldn't go to the bathroom until your next break, which could be in 3 hours time but you've just had a drink on your last break, because even though drinks are allowed on the warehouse floor in a sealed container you can't stop sorting for even a second before it all starts to pile up and then you are racing to get all your parcels sorted so that you can get back to a rhythm and then its piled up so much that the conveyer belt has done an emergency stop and all the alarms are going off and everyone is wondering what's happened...all because you had some water. It is expected that you sort 200 parcels per hour on average and for an 8-10 hour shift that's around 1,400-1,800 parcels per shift. The last 2ish hours of the shift are for getting the trolleys ready to load onto the vans which means everyone running around with a trolley getting bags off of shelves that are taller than you and swinging them to the side so you don't drop it on your own head but possibly hitting someone else in the process. You can't choose the bags you get as it is assigned by the zebra so you can't go down one aisle you have to go all over the warehouse floor.
