Pros

Never a dull moment with a fast paced environment surrounded by talented people.

Cons

Constantly spinning your wheels while waiting for a directive. It doesn’t matter if you’re showing initiative through any of the principles, like learn and be curious, ownership, invent and simplify, etc, it’s not until a directive from above that becomes the thing you should have been working on in the first place. Often times, you may be working on what you think is what is expected but suddenly if the L8. + you’re presenting to changes from the original request then you have to change gears, approach and reinvent even a whole product and it can happen even the day before that meeting was original planned. It happens frequently and what ever had been the direction a whole team of finance, product manager, and SDE were working on for 1-2 weeks is thrown out to restart and get it done in less than 24hrs. In essence you’re spinning your wheels a lot. None of the leadership principles matter until you’re judged by them, it’s in the eye of the beholder and not meant to be a guidance, it’s a measuring stick used against you by leadership in the moment and it’s often leadership principles are in conflict with each other (easy when there are so many, up to 14 now - I started with 12).

Pros

Excellent pay/benefits, Safety first mindset, flexible scheduling, fantastic training program, phenomenal team support, convenient locations. Plenty of pathways for career advancement and full support for self promotion. Culture is fantastic. You really can be yourself and make many new friends fast. Teamwork is outstanding. Everyone is always willing to help.

Cons

Growing so fast that it's hard to keep the same manager. I've had four managers in two months. Constantly have to adapt to new procedures and changes and working locations. Always in a state of flux. Standards keep changing all the time
